Before a single panel is cut, five planning decisions decide the takeoff: where the run sits, how long it runs, where water leaves it, which way it falls, and what crosses it. 1 · Walk the site, mark the water path
Find where sheet flow actually crosses the driveway — kerb line, garage entry, gate threshold. Mark the run, its two ends, every outlet and every wheel crossing on a site plan or hand sketch.
2 · Set the fall and the outlets
Give every section one direction of fall toward its outlet, and put an outlet at each low point. Long runs split at the high point so two shorter sections drain faster than one long one.
3 · Turn the sketch into a takeoff
Record run length, channel width, outlet positions, the traffic in each zone and the finish. That is the whole brief we need — the takeoff becomes panel sizes, joint positions and outlet pieces in the 24-hour quote.
