Order specification
The Order-Specification Checklist
Galvanized steel bar grating is ordered, not browsed. Six line items make an RFQ complete — cover them once and your itemized quote comes back within 24 hours with no clarification rounds.
| Line item | What to specify | Why the quote needs it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · Bearing bar size & spacing | Bar height × thickness, then centers: 20×3 mm to 100×8 mm at 30 / 40 / 60 mm | Sets the load rating — the first line of every quote |
| 2 · Panel dimensions & quantity | Length × width per piece, piece count per size; panels up to 1.25 m × 6 m | Lets us nest cut pieces from full panels and confirm the cutting plan |
| 3 · Banding type | Flat-bar banding welded all round is standard; banded openings and cut-outs to drawing | Closes bar ends, stiffens edges, shapes openings around services |
| 4 · Surface | Plain or serrated (anti-slip) bearing bars | Serrated for wet, oily or sloped traffic; plain for general floors |
| 5 · Finish | Hot-dip galvanized after fabrication — ASTM A123 / ISO 1461; black mill finish optional | Dipping after cutting and banding puts zinc on every cut edge and weld |
| 6 · Destination port | FOB Tianjin as standard; EXW or CIF negotiable | Fixes the shipping leg and the document set your market needs |
Something does not fit the table? Galvanized steel bar grating is cut to drawing, panel by panel — send the drawing and we confirm the cutting plan free inside the 24-hour quote. An itemized quote is available on request; we publish no fixed price list.
Order flow
From Checklist to Container
Here is what happens to your order once the six line items are confirmed — same path whether you order one trial pallet of galvanized floor grating or full containers.
1 · Cut list from your checklist
Your bearing bar spec, panel sizes and quantities become a cutting list. Pieces are nested into full panels so offcuts stay out of your itemized quote — welded or press-locked construction per the specification.
2 · Banded, then dipped
Bandings and openings are welded first, then finished panels go to our certified galvanizing partner for a 2–3 day hot-dip cycle to ASTM A123 / ISO 1461 — already counted inside the production window, never added on top.
3 · Checked, packed, documented
Final inspection on our five-stage QC plan, export packing with steel strapping on pallets, then the paper set: mill test certificates (EN 10204 Type 3.1) with every shipment, the galvanizing batch record and the inspection report.
Why order direct
Why Buyers Order Galvanized Steel Bar Grating From the Mill
Mill to you direct
No middlemen between your checklist and the production line. Orders ship FOB Tianjin as standard — EXW or CIF negotiable — and every quote is itemized line by line, on request.
Made to your spec, panel by panel
The factory-fit promise: sizes taken from your drawing, not rounded to a stock list, with the first article checked against it. Plain or serrated, banded or open — each panel is built right before it is dipped.
Small MOQ, batch-documented
Galv floor grating is cut to your sizes from small MOQ — trial orders welcome — and small does not mean undocumented: every batch ships with mill test certificates (EN 10204 Type 3.1) with every shipment.
Applications
What Gets Ordered in Galvanized Steel Bar Grating
The same six line items cover every common order — only the duty changes. Four formats make up most galvanized floor grating and panel orders.
Platform & mezzanine panels
Galvanized floor grating ordered by span and load; banded edges wherever panels sit exposed.
Walkway & catwalk panels
A galvanized steel grate panel in long runs — serrated surface specified for outdoor and sloped traffic.
Trench & drain covers
Cut to pit lengths from the same panels; close-mesh press-locked option where heels matter.
Stair treads & landings
Banded treads with nosing, galvanized after banding; ordered by tread dimensions and count.

Documents that travel with your order
An order is only as good as its paperwork. The Q235B heat is verified against its mill certificate at goods-in — the first of our five QC stages — and the finished shipment leaves with the full set:
- Mill test certificates (EN 10204 Type 3.1) with every shipment
- Galvanizing batch thickness-sampling record — ASTM A123 / ISO 1461
- Factory inspection report with every shipment
- Declaration of Conformity prepared per order destination
Material check before you order
This page covers the galvanized row — the workhorse outdoor order. If your environment is harsher or milder, the same six line items apply to the other materials we run:
| Material | Corrosion resistance | Typical environment | Relative cost | Base steel |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Carbon steel, black | Needs shop primer or paint; bare steel is for dry indoor duty only | Dry indoor platforms, painted service, temporary works | Lowest | Q235B |
| Hot-dip galvanized Q235B | Corrosion-Resistant zinc coating, metallurgically bonded — covers cut edges and welds | Outdoor walkways, platforms, trench covers, wet plant floors | Moderate | Q235B |
| Stainless SS304 | Corrosion-Resistant in fresh water, food washdown and mild chemical duty | Food plants, washdown floors, general wet areas | Higher | SS304 |
| Stainless SS316 | Best of the range against chlorides and saline atmospheres | Marine, coastal, brine and chemical zones | Highest | SS316 |
Standards & compliance
The Standards Your Order Is Produced To
Write these designations into your purchase order and we produce to them — certified & tested, reports on request. The document chain runs from incoming steel to the released container.
ASTM A123 / ISO 1461
The governing standards for the hot-dip galvanized finish on your order — coating thickness judged by sampling on every galvanized batch before release.
EN 10204 Type 3.1
The document standard behind the mill test certificate that traces the Q235B heat in your panels — material certs ready to preview with your quote.
ANSI / NAAMM MBG 531
Fabrication reference practice for welded bar grating — weld inspection is stage three of our five-stage QC plan, before panels move to galvanizing.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I specify when ordering galvanized steel bar grating?
Six line items make an order complete: bearing bar size and spacing, panel dimensions and quantity, banding type, surface (plain or serrated), finish (hot-dip galvanized to ASTM A123 / ISO 1461) and the destination port. Send those with your drawing and the itemized quote comes back within 24 hours — drawing review is free.
What panel sizes and formats can I order?
Panels run up to 1.25 m wide and 6 m long, with bearing bars from 20×3 mm to 100×8 mm at 30 / 40 / 60 mm centers. Order standard 19W4 designations or fully custom panels — every piece is cut and banded to your drawings, then hot-dip galvanized after fabrication.
How is an order priced and shipped?
Quotes are itemized per m² or per ton — we publish no fixed price list, and an itemized quote is available on request. Orders ship worldwide from Tianjin Port, FOB Tianjin as standard with EXW or CIF negotiable, and mill test certificates (EN 10204 Type 3.1) travel with every shipment.
