Panel ordering
Order by Panel: Size, Banding, Surface, Finish
A galvanized panel is a physical object — up to 1.25 m wide, up to 6 m long, and it has to nest into a bundle, ride a pallet and survive a container. This table shows how the common panel formats are ordered: the size range, the banding that closes the bar ends, the walking surface and the zinc finish.
| Panel format | Size | Banding | Surface | Finish |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Full mill panels | Up to 1.25 m wide × 6 m long | Banded ends as standard | Plain | Hot-dip galvanized — ASTM A123 / ISO 1461 |
| Custom-cut panels | Any smaller size, nested from full panels | Every cut edge banded | Plain or serrated | Galvanized after cutting, so zinc covers the cut edges |
| Heavy-duty panels | Up to 1.25 m × 6 m, bars to 100×8 mm on 30 mm centers | Banding all round for exposed edges | Serrated recommended | Hot-dip galvanized after fabrication |
| Close-mesh panels | Up to 1.25 m × 6 m, 11 / 11 mm openings, press-locked | Banding on all four edges | Plain | Hot-dip galvanized after fabrication |
| Shaped panels & openings | To drawing — notches, radius corners, frames around services | Openings banded to drawing | Plain or serrated | Hot-dip galvanized after fabrication |
Panel schedule does not fit the table? Send it — we confirm nesting, banding and finish inside the 24-hour quote. Small trial orders welcome; an itemized quote is available on request, never a fixed price list.
Export logistics
How a Galvanized Panel Packs for Export
The panel leaves the mill the way it will ride the container: nested, banded, dipped, strapped and palletized. Every step below happens inside your production window — nothing is added on top of it.
1 · Nesting & custom cutting
Your panel schedule is nested into full panels up to 1.25 m × 6 m before a single cut is made. Fewer offcuts means less steel in your itemized quote — and a bundle shape that stacks clean.
2 · Banded, then dipped
Banding options are welded first — banded ends standard, banding all round for exposed edges, openings framed to your drawing. Then panels take a 2–3 day hot-dip cycle to ASTM A123 / ISO 1461, so zinc reaches every cut edge and weld.
3 · Strapped, palletized, loaded
Finished panels are drawn into bundles with steel strapping and set on export pallets to a container loading plan we confirm with you before shipment. The mill sits about 400 km from Tianjin Port — FOB Tianjin as standard, EXW or CIF negotiable.
Why buy panels direct
Why Buyers Order Galvanized Panels From the Mill
Any size, from small MOQ
Custom galvanized panels cut to your sizes — a single trial bundle or full containers. Send a panel schedule or just a sketch; the drawing review is free inside the 24-hour quote.
Zinc that stands up to weather
Hot-dip galvanizing after fabrication bonds a Corrosion-Resistant zinc layer over the whole panel — including cut edges and banding welds. Specify a serrated surface for wet sites, ramps and outdoor traffic.
Panels that arrive traceable
Galv panels plus mill cert: every Q235B heat is verified at goods-in, and finished orders leave with mill test certificates (EN 10204 Type 3.1) with every shipment — material certs ready to preview.
Applications
Where Galvanized Grating Panels Get Specified
Most galvanized steel grating panels for sale worldwide share the formats in the table above — what separates orders is the cutting, the banding and the packing. Four duties cover the bulk of panel orders — from standard walkway panels to heavy duty galvanized steel grating for wheel traffic.
Outdoor walkways & ramps
Long panels in continuous runs; serrated surface where rain, oil or slope is in play.
Platforms & mezzanines
Open-mesh flooring ordered by span and load; banded edges wherever the panel sits exposed.
Trench covers & pits
Panels cut to pit lengths, banded on the bearing ends; close-mesh option where heels matter.
Screens, gates & fence infill
Shaped panels to drawing — zinc finish keeps outdoor screening panels maintenance-light.

Documents that travel with the panels
The Q235B heat behind your panels is verified against its mill certificate at goods-in — the first of our five QC stages — and the finished shipment leaves with the full set:
- Mill test certificates (EN 10204 Type 3.1) with every shipment
- Galvanizing batch record — coating thickness by sampling, ASTM A123 / ISO 1461
- Factory inspection report with every shipment
- Declaration of Conformity prepared per order destination
Material check before you order panels
This page covers the galvanized row — the default outdoor panel. If your environment is harsher or milder, the same panel formats run in the other materials we carry:
| Material | Corrosion resistance | Typical environment | Relative cost | Base steel |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Carbon steel, black | Needs shop primer or paint; bare steel is for dry indoor duty only | Dry indoor platforms, painted service, temporary works | Lowest | Q235B |
| Hot-dip galvanized Q235B | Corrosion-Resistant zinc coating, metallurgically bonded — covers cut edges and welds | Outdoor walkways, platforms, trench covers, wet plant floors | Moderate | Q235B |
| Stainless SS304 | Corrosion-Resistant in fresh water, food washdown and mild chemical duty | Food plants, washdown floors, general wet areas | Higher | SS304 |
| Stainless SS316 | Best of the range against chlorides and saline atmospheres | Marine, coastal, brine and chemical zones | Highest | SS316 |
Standards & compliance
The Standards Your Panels Are Produced To
Write these designations into your purchase order and we produce to them — certified & tested, reports on request. The document chain runs from incoming steel to the released container.
ASTM A123 / ISO 1461
The governing standards for the hot-dip galvanized finish on every panel — coating thickness judged by sampling on each galvanized batch before release.
EN 10204 Type 3.1
The document standard behind the mill test certificate that traces the Q235B heat in your panels — material certs ready to preview with your quote.
ANSI / NAAMM MBG 531
Fabrication reference practice for welded panels — weld inspection is stage three of our five-stage QC plan, before panels move to galvanizing and packing.
