Three Specs Where We Would Tell You to Buy Polymer
A trench cover is a commodity spec — the cheapest wrong answer costs more than the honest right one. These are the site conditions where a polymer cover is the correct engineering choice, even though it is not what we sell.
Pedestrian-only trenches
Footpaths, landscaped edges and roof gardens where nothing heavier than a maintenance cart will ever cross. Polymer covers carry that duty comfortably and install without lifting gear.
Aggressive chemical exposure
Plating lines, acid pickling and chemical storage areas attack carbon steel faster than any coating can keep up. Many polymers are simply immune to those media — or specify SS316 steel if the loads are heavy too.
Non-conductive duty
Trenches around substations, live rail and earthing zones must not carry current. A polymer cover is the standard answer there — steel would need deliberate bonding and isolation engineering.
