Specifying a Galvanized Steel Walkway in Three Passes
1 · Map the duty
Split the layout into walk sections and platform areas, and note the span each way. The span sets the bearing-bar direction: bars run across the supports on a walk strip, and follow the short bay span on a platform field.
2 · Pick the panel
Bearing bars from 20×3 mm to 100×8 mm on 30 / 40 / 60 mm centers, serrated or plain, cut and banded to the drawing. Walk routes usually sit at the lighter end; platform bays take the taller bars.
3 · Dip it
After fabrication, panels go to a certified hot-dip galvanizing partner near our mill for an ASTM A123 / ISO 1461 coating — zinc inside the mesh and out, already counted inside your production window.
