OSHA explained

What OSHA Grating Requirements Mean

OSHA is a workplace safety regulator, not a product certification body. For steel grating, the relevant text is 29 CFR 1910.24(c), which sets the load requirements for fixed industrial stairs — the access case where grating treads and landings are used. We explain the honest position here, and we produce to it.

What OSHA is

OSHA sets workplace safety rules for US employers. For grating, 29 CFR 1910.24(c) sets load requirements for fixed stairs — the access context where grating treads, landings and platforms must carry defined loads. It is not a certification program for products.

Scope — stair and access loads

OSHA grating requirements center on the loads fixed stairs and access structures must resist. The grating panel geometry itself is produced to structural grating practice, while the load case follows the access requirement in the regulation.

Key points for procurement

Give the access case, the load and the tread or panel size on your drawing. We produce to the load requirement, confirm we can make it, and ship DoC, MTC and test reports with the order.

OSHA Requirements vs Our Produce-to Position

We produce to requirements — we do not claim certifications we do not hold. Here is how each OSHA grating project requirement maps to our manufacturing position.

OSHA grating requirements set the access load case; the panel carries it with the right bar size and spacing. Tell us the span and the live load — we match it and issue load tables with your quote.

How we support you

Produce to the Requirement, Documents in Hand

1

Confirm your standard combo

Tell us the access case and loads — OSHA 29 CFR 1910.24(c) stair loads, MBG 531 panels, A123 coating. We confirm we can produce to it and quote the full document set.

2

Test on request

Third-party sampling and testing arranged for the agreed batch before shipping — reports issued to the project file.

3

DoC + MTC with the order

Every order ships with a Declaration of Conformity per ISO 17050, an MTC to EN 10204 Type 3.1 and a factory inspection report.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you provide compliance and DoC documents with an OSHA access grating order?

Yes. Every order ships with a Declaration of Conformity prepared per ISO 17050 for the destination market, an MTC to EN 10204 Type 3.1 and a factory inspection report. Test reports for the agreed batch are supplied on request.

What is the difference between producing to OSHA requirements and third-party certification?

Producing to a requirement means access grating and stair treads are manufactured and inspected to the referenced loads in the regulation. Certification is a separate third-party audit program. We state what we produce to and back it with documents and on-request testing — we do not claim certifications we do not hold.

What are your sample and production timelines?

Samples ship in 5–7 working days and mass production runs 15–25 working days after drawing confirmation, both including hot-dip galvanizing. Quote within 24 hours.
