Perforated Sheet Walkway vs Open Bar Grating Walkway
A perforated steel walkway is sheet-based: a steel plate punched with a regular hole pattern, so the floor stays almost continuous. A bar grating walkway is open: bearing bars and cross bars leave clear gaps that water, snow and debris fall straight through. Three Ways We Build a Walkway Panel
1 · Welded bar grating walkways
Our stock walkway product: bearing bars and cross bars electro-forged into one solid panel — 30 / 40 / 60 mm centers, open, self-draining, fast to install.
2 · Press-locked close mesh
When a walkway must be open yet fine, cross bars are pressed into notched bearing bars on our press-lock machine — flat panels with openings down to 11 / 11 mm.
3 · Perforated sheet panels
A derived process: sheet is punched to the hole pattern on your drawing, then cut and edge-banded into walkway panels. There is no stock pattern program to pick from — every perforated panel is quoted per project. See the perforated grating process page →

The punched holes leave a near-continuous anti-slip floor: trolleys and small casters roll smoothly, boot heels land solid, and dropped fasteners stay on the mesh walkway panel instead of falling onto machinery below.
Load-rated perforated steel
Perforated panels are rated by sheet thickness and support spacing from your drawing; the equivalent bar grating walkway is rated by bearing bar and span. Load tables for both come with your quote.
Custom sizes, made to size
Panels cut and banded to your drawings in bulk or small trial lots, factory-direct with FOB Tianjin pricing and an MTC to EN 10204 Type 3.1 on the steel. Hole pattern, sheet thickness and open area follow your spec, not a catalog.
