SS304 Inside, SS316 by the Pool
A slot drain in an architectural interior is seen, touched and photographed — so the grade matters twice: once for appearance, once for the water chemistry it lives in. Both grades are fabricated on the same lines, with the mill test certificate of every heat attached. (The slot format also runs in carbon steel — a galvanized slot drain is the HDG version for exterior and utility duty, while the stainless slot drain on this page is the architectural route.)

We sell both grades and gain nothing from an upgrade you do not need. SS304 is the right call for hidden interior runs and dry lobbies; SS316 pays for itself only where chloride is a constant — pool water, sea air, road salt. Send the setting, the water chemistry if you have it, and the layout: we will nominate one grade in writing inside your itemized quote. How the product is built
One Narrow Slot to See, One Channel to Hide
1 · The slot the eye sees
The finished floor reads as continuous paving: two slabs, one line of drainage. Water sheets across the surface and drops through the narrow slot, while cans, leaves and litter stay on top for the sweeper.
2 · The frame that sets the line
A stainless edge frame carries the slot width, keeps the paving edges true and takes the foot and trolley loads. Slot width, channel depth and outlet positions are all cut to your drawings — never to a stock list.
3 · Weld, pickle, passivate
Channel bodies and frames are welded on our in-house lines, then welds are pickled and passivated so the run stays one clean material — no coating to chip, no rust bloom at a visible joint. Every heat arrives with its mill test certificate verified at goods-in.

What is the lead time for a stainless slot drain order?
Samples ship in 5–7 working days and mass production runs 15–25 working days after drawing confirmation. Stainless needs no galvanizing, so runs finish in mill or pickled-and-passivated condition in one production window. Rush production in 10–15 days is possible with a surcharge — ask in your quote.
SS304 or SS316 for my slot drain?
SS304 covers dry and intermittently wet interior runs — lobbies, plaza decks, kitchen floors and balconies. SS316 is the pool-and-chloride choice for pool surrounds, wet decks, coastal exteriors and de-icing-salt exposure. If the run is hidden and indoors, SS304 is the honest specification; we will not upsell 316 where 304 does the job.
