Grade & format chooser
Two Grades, Four Formats — One Stainless Drain Spec
A drain stainless steel order is really two decisions: the alloy that survives your environment, and the format that matches how water moves across the site. Decide both here, then send the layout.
| Format | Best for | How water enters | Typical grate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Channel drain | Linear runs along walls, aprons and washdown floors | Along the full run through open mesh | Banded panels, 30 / 40 / 60 mm spacing |
| Slot drain | Sanitary interiors: kitchens, dairies, pharma floors | One narrow slot along the channel | Narrow opening sized so heels stay on top |
| Gully grid | Point drains, interceptors, equipment wash bays | Collects at a single sump | Square or rectangular grid cover |
| Trench grating | Wide trenches at yard edges, docks and loading bays | Large open channel, debris washes through | Heavy bar sections for wheel loads |
| Duty | SS304 stainless | SS316 stainless |
|---|---|---|
| Typical environment | Indoor floor drains, food processing, general washdown | Coastal salt spray, marine aprons, chemical washdown |
| Corrosion behavior | Good general corrosion resistance in mild duty | Molybdenum-added alloy for chlorides and harsh cleaning agents |
| Where it fits the plan | Channel runs, gully grids, SS floor drain grating in mild areas | Slot drains, catch basins and interceptor duty in severe areas |
| Spec range | Identical bar and mesh range — the grade choice is about environment, not strength | |

How a drain is specified
From Drain Layout to Stainless Components
1 · Channel body & falls
Your layout sets run lengths, outlet positions and falls. We confirm channel width, depth and frame type against the drawings before anything is cut.
2 · Grating selection
Bar height and spacing follow the load: foot traffic, trolleys or truck wheels. Open mesh keeps the high flow a real SS drain needs, with close mesh where heels cross.
3 · Fabrication & export
Stainless needs no galvanizing step — panels are cut and banded to drawing, welds dressed, then strapped and palletized for export with their inspection paperwork.
Why specify stainless
Why Buyers Move Drains to Stainless Steel
High flow, heavy duty
Open-mesh SS floor drain grating sheds storm water fast, while heavy bar sections take truck wheels at aprons and loading docks — one grade of steel doing both jobs.
Covers, frames and grates from one factory
No split sourcing: grates, banding, frames and gully covers come from one workshop, to your drawings and any run length — wholesale and project quantities both welcome.
Factory-direct, with mill certificates
Straight from the mill in Shijiazhuang — no middlemen between your layout and the production line — and mill test certificates (EN 10204 Type 3.1) with every shipment.
Applications
Where Stainless Drains Earn Their Keep
Carbon steel plus galvanizing covers most civil drainage. Stainless steel drains take over wherever water is constant, chlorides are present, or the floor gets hosed down daily.
Food & beverage washdown
Daily hose-downs and cleaning chemicals — SS304 or SS316 channel and slot drains.
Chemical & pharma plants
Corrosive spills route to gully grids and interceptors that survive them.
Coastal & marine sites
Salt spray eats coatings — SS316 trench and channel grating stays serviceable.
Basements & plant rooms
Perpetually wet floors where rust streaks are unacceptable — SS floor drain grating.

Materials & test documents
Every heat of SS304 or SS316 enters production with its mill test certificate verified at goods-in — the first of our five QC stages. Panels and covers leave with documentation, not promises:

Standards & compliance
Produced to Recognized Standards — Documents on Request
Grates referenced to EN 124
Drain covers are referenced to EN 124 classes A15–D400 by duty. State your wheel load in the RFQ and we match the bar section to it.
EN 10204 Type 3.1 MTC
Heat-traceable mill test certificates (EN 10204 Type 3.1) with every shipment — SS304 and SS316 chemistry you can verify.
CE & SGS tested
Certified & tested, reports on request — we show documents you can verify, not a certificate wall.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Which grade do I need for a stainless steel drain — SS304 or SS316?
SS304 suits indoor floor drains, gully grids and general washdown duty. SS316 adds molybdenum for chloride exposure — coastal sites, salt spray and harsh cleaning chemicals. Both run on the same bar and mesh range, so the grade choice is about environment, not strength.
What is the lead time for stainless drain components?
Samples ship in 5–7 working days and mass production runs 15–25 working days after drawing confirmation. Rush production in 10–15 days is possible with a surcharge — ask in your quote.
Do you accept small trial orders, and how are drains shipped?
Yes — small trial orders are welcome. Stainless drains ship worldwide from Tianjin Port, FOB Tianjin as standard with EXW or CIF negotiable. Pricing is itemized in your quote; we do not publish a fixed price list.
